Net
Format
These guidelines from http://www.qsl.net/n5lf/cw-nts.html. This is a very good site for CW net
handling. I wrote it as if only Jerry and John are
checking in, but others are welcome to join the fun. We
will go at 5 wpm or so till we all feel comfortable. And
stay at that speed for several weeks.
For messages, we will follow the format of the attached
form which agrees with the ARRL guidelines starting with
the Number block. (The top blocks are for convenience to
the operator):
I. Opening the Caroline County CW Net:
ncs: QRL? (checking to see if the
frequency is clear)
ncs: (giving the net preamble):
("bt" = double dash "--" )
CARCO CARCO DE KO4WK CAROLINE COUNTY, VA
ARES TRAFFIC NET BT ALL STATIONS WELCOME
QND QNN KO4WK/BOYD/BOWLING GREEN QNZ VVV
Explanation: ko4wk is the net control station (ncs).
He calls the net.
Then he says, qnd ("this is a directed net,
follow directions from the NCS"),
qnn ko4wk/boyd/bowling green,va
("the ncs is ko4wk, boyd, in bowling green, va),
and qnz ("please zero-beat on my frequency").
The vvv is optional, and is used to help stations
zero-beat.
II. QNI - General Checkins

k=over ")
